About the event
The Lakewood Ranch Wind Ensemble invites you to experience A Little Dance Music, an energetic and entertaining afternoon celebrating the many ways dance and rhythm have inspired composers around the world.
The program features an exciting variety of musical styles, from the spirited Americana of Aaron Copland's Hoe-Down and the timeless charm of Henry Fillmore's The Footlifter, to the passionate rhythms of Astor Piazzolla's Street Tango and beloved selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical Carousel.
Featured soloist Ellen Saxton, tenor saxophone, joins the Ensemble for two special performances. Ellen will be showcased in Jack Stamp's exciting Jigsaw and an audience-friendly adaptation of Henry Mancini's beloved Pink Panther, highlighting the versatility and expressive character of the tenor saxophone.
